Once upon any time . . .

[For my niece in Paris, TX and the young heart too]

Once upon a time, a princess kissed a frog, hoping he’d be her prince.


He did not change.

He could have . . . but he had to know if the kiss was a seal, a sign, or a fickle flight of fancy.

The princess waited. He waited.

‘Twas a love so true that she became a frog.

He returned his love with a frog kiss, and they became princess and prince, living in the shade of the garden.

To everyone else they appeared to be frogs.

But from the castle, the king often looked down into the garden with a smile and watched the heirs to his kingdom playing among the flowers . . .
